TV Shows.....
Same as the movie topic. I think TV sucks. I watch a few shows but usually watch stuff on the Histroy channel. So, what would you like to see on TV? Something old or something new? Some things of old would be new again, like westerns. I'd like to see a good western. Any ideas?

Re: TV Shows.....
Have you tried Netfix yet? You can get a box on eBay for around $40(it's called a ROKU.) With it connected to your tv and a good internet connection you can watch stuff on demand from Netflix($7.99/month), Hulu Plus($7.99/month), Amazon(pay per view), and many other free channels.
I think Netflix is the best value. It has no commercials, and has full seasons of tv shows like Cheers, Gun Smoke, History Channel shows(American Pickers, Modern Marvels, Swamp People, Ancient Aliens, Pawn Stars, etc), tons of Discovery and National Geographics documentaries, Star Trek(original, next gen, enterprise), as well as movies.
I keep cable because I like new shows from Discovery, A&E, and History. But, when there's nothing on Netflix is awesome.
And, you can rent shows on Amazon for $1.99 and they seem to hit about the same time they hit Redbox.

I haven't tried netfix yet. I'm still thinking about it. Can you watch netflix on your TV through a laptop instead of getting a box?
And yep, welcome to the forum.

You can watch Netflix on your computer. And, I guess if you know how to hook the computer to your tv you could do that. I think the equipment to do it correctly would be more expensive than the ROKU box, though. You can also do Netflix on Wii, Xbox, and most Blueray players. Wal-Mart supposedly sells Netflix ready Blueray's in the $60 range. I've never seen that myself, though. I'm not a Blueray fan(never bothered purchasing a player.)

I hate getting into a new show just to see it cancelled. I watch a variety of shows...old and new. I wish I could see the old Carol Burnett shows...Red Skelton...Ed Sullivan...Dean Martin...Laugh-In...I am not as old as I sound. I just loved the variety shows of the past.

I love old movies. They had a much better story line. The new movies are all about how much blood can be shed. I don't have a weak stomach but I do like a story with some sense to it.
