Hey y'all!!
What do you know, I found the sane people!!
I'm going to be in Beaumont next week and want to spend some time fishing before heading back to Georgia. Who wants to be my fishing guide??

Guy!! Great to see you, please join us. I thought the liberals kidnapped you and had you locked away somewhere. I wish I could fish, maybe Thursday if you want to, I do have 2 kayaks and should be able to put you on some redfish. Let me know.

Ditch!!! Good to see you, bro!
I'm leaving Phoenix on Tuesday, so Thursday fishing sounds perfect! Is there a decent campground in the area that I can pitch a tent in? I should be there Wed afternoon.

10,000 mosquitoes can't be wrong. Sabine Pass Park used to be a State Park, now locally owned and it's right near the fishing hole. You'll like it, it's where we whipped the yankees. You can fish right off of the seawall too..

Does a porn star shave his nutts? Yes it has a campground, that's why I sent you the link. There are primitive spots with water, electricity and a roof over a picnic table. The mud forts are still there. Let me take you back to 1863. Thirteen Yankee vessels were anchored off of Sabine Pass getting ready to make a run through it. If they made it through, they would ravage our timber and cotton supplies and run right up the Neches River. A bad epidemic of "Yellow Jack", Yellow fever was ravaging our troops and they knew it.
What they didn't know, was that this series of mud forts was where we sent our confederate sons to learn how to shoot a cannon. The pros were there. Dick Dowling was in Beaumont at the time. He got the word and sent several boats down the Neches with cotton bales on the sides as armor. As he and his trusted men dashed off from Beaumont to Sabine Pass on their horses to meet this threat. If they took Sabine Pass, they took most of lower Texas. He arrived and watched the ships..
Three ships made a bold dash through the pass. One took a cannonball through its boiler, anther was severely damaged. The third ran aground on a sand bar and was pounded into submission. The other ten turned tail and ran. The prisoners were marched back overland and held in cow pens in what is now, or was, Spindletop Park behind the old humane society.
But to answer your question, yes, they have campsites. Buy your bait on Highway 365 west of 69/96. They have live and dead shrimp. I think they have BBQ pits. I have The Kraken rum and some doojie, fish tremble when they hear my name.
