Granpaw, why is there winter? Empty Granpaw, why is there winter?

Post  Admin Tue Aug 23, 2011 7:21 pm

A young boy looked up at his grandfather as he held his coat closer against the cold wind, "Grandpaw, why is there winter? The trees all die and lose all of their their leaves, it rains a lot."

The old man looked at him and smiled, "You need to eat to live, don't you? You need to eat to live and reproduce. The earth and the trees are the same, they too must eat. What is it that you think the trees eat? They eat their and others own dead leaves. That is natures way of replenishing the earth. If there was no winter, no plants could eat. It rains so the leaves can compost, pretty brilliant don't you think?

But there is more than that, a lesson to be learned from the grand master who cast this all into motion. It is no accident that the earth tilts on its axis as it spins, making day for working and night for sleeping. Or spring for plating and summer for growing. Fall for harvesting and winter seems so cold, but it is all a part of God's plan. Next year, it will all start over again and spring will come

There is a message here. We are all born into the spring of our youth and flourish in the summer as we grow. The autumn comes and the leaves turn gold, they actually become more beautiful, as we do as we age. Then the winter sets in and life becomes hard. But, if we trust in God and trust what he has put before us, we know that a magnificent spring is coming soon."
