KTRE: School employee fired for topless dancing

A woman working as an at-will employee for the Hemphill ISD was fired last week after photos of her dancing topless at a biker rally surfaced on the Internet, KTRE reports.


Once questioned about the photos, the woman reportedly admitted the nude dancing incident to Superintendent Andy Trekell, who fired her “immediately,” according to KTRE.

Parents had varying opinions on the woman’s termination.

“Shocked… Bothers me very much – showing their privates like that,” said Kay Bass, parent.

“I’m glad they were able to terminate her because people like that shouldn’t be allowed to work in the school house,” said Tina Rothen, parent.


However, not everyone thinks the firing was a fair one.

“I think it’s bull crap. I think what she does on her own time is her business,” said Don Browning, attended rally.

Treskell told KTRE that a school employee’s private behavior is grounds for dismissal if it becomes a public matter.
